This has been a busy week without much sewing around here, because this has been going on since Monday morning...
My grandkids are staying here for a few days while their parents are celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary in Disney! So they are doing a lot of crafts and I am running interference instead of a sewing machine. I did make some more blocks for the My Small World quilts before they came - here they are...
So, in the absence of anything new of my own to show, I thought I'd share some inspiration I found on Instagram this week!
I love this unique string quilt! Makes me want to drag out my string bucket and get to work.
Doesn't this look like a great way to use up some solid scraps? Bold and bright and perfect for a new baby!
And this!!! As near as I can tell from her description, each of those half square triangles measures 1 INCH FINISHED! Now that is truly a labor of love!
Please spend some time at the sewing machine today for me - I miss mine!!! But I'll be back to it soon enough, once the kids go home. I'll miss them though, so I'm going to enjoy my time with them while I have them.
Hugs!
Sarah
String circles, that is great, and to be busy with grandies, love that too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice time with the grands! You needed to savor the time with them!
ReplyDeleteI'll be thinking about you as I sew today! I'm going to finish up my first RSC top for 2019. My guild has a call to donate to the Navajo Nation in December, so we're all trying to get some quilts completed :)
ReplyDeleteNo sewing today, but thanks for sharing those inspiring quilts with us!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! Just look at the first picture of your loves. Isn't that just the best?!! Holy moly - 1" finished HSTs. Kudos to her. I would never, EVER make something that small but I sure appreciate and enjoy the results from those that do! Enjoy the rest of the week and weekend! ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteOoooooo! I'm loving that circle string quilt! I wonder how it was done? Perhaps applique? Very pretty!
