Sew&Tell Friday - Finally Christmas Sewing!!

Hi, all!

Friday again - and I finally have some Christmas gift projects to show off!  I've moved out of denial into sheer terror that I won't get everything done........

The back....

And the front!

First of all, here's a pinafore I've made for my granddaughter for Christmas.  It's from the One Yard Wonders book, and it's just too cute - the only change I made was to make the armholes a little deeper, and I made a fabric sash instead of using ribbon, which didn't hold up well in the wash the last time I made one of these.  It's open down the back, so I still need to find solid leggings and a t-shirt to go with it.  Good thing I'm going to the mall this weekend (yes, I've lost my mind!!)  I'm hoping to find a solid brown to go with this, but will take anything that matches!!

And now I want to show this flimsy I made this week.  I showed a picture of it earlier in the week, but since it was raining, I had to take the picture indoors and it wasn't very pretty or true to the colors.  Today, though, the sun was out, so I took a picture with the sun shining through it, and now it has a name - "Stained Glass"......

So those are some of my finishes for the week!  I'm going to link up with Amy's Sew & Tell Friday - be sure to hop over there and see what everyone's working on!!

Later!

Sarah

  3. OOooOOO your granddaughter's dress is beautiful - I have that book - I'll have to pull it out and have a look at the pattern!

I love your quilt - string quilts are my all-time favorites - I love the look, the anything-goes color combinations, the randomness and the stress-free aspect of making the blocks - I have string block curtains in my bedroom (to match the 100" x 100" quilt I made, of course!) - the light shining through makes the seam allowances look like leading, so they look like stained glass as well!
